About ProActive Kids
ProActive Kids camps was setup in 2013 by Chris Lang, a year before he co-built and opened Squirrel's Scramble. It was designed as a camp to be solely outdoors, full of action and adventure, with unique activities that stood out from the rest. Our aim is to inspire a love of the great outdoors for kids, for them to have fun and to challenge their limits not limit their challenges in a kind and encouraging manner. ProActive Kids hit the ground running with huge popularity among families from all localities far, wide and abroad. Squirrel's Scramble turned out to be the perfect addition to the camp to make it one of the best and most unique kids camps in Ireland which keeps the kids happy, challeneged, entertained and coming back year after year.
INFORMATION
The camp runs Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4.15pm.
It is based four days on the grounds of Killruddery Estate and one day at Dalkey Quarry. We will keep you informed as to which day the climbing session will be, closer to the time. The climbing day is subject to cancellation due to bad weather, it is unsafe to climb on wet rocks.
Dropping off times are from 8.30am to 9.30am, collection times are 3.30pm to 4.15pm, drop off is located at the Squirrel's Scramble check in desk. You will find us at the Killruddery House and Gardens overflow car park, down from the farmer's market location.
The drop off and pick up hours are supervised relaxed times, when the children can play and practice the skills they have learnt. These times are provided for the convenience of busy parents to allow for late arrival.
Activities start at 9.30am, due to the big variety of activities we do, and the large size of Killruddery grounds we use many different locations. Arrival after 9.30am could result in your child missing out, as we may have already left the meeting point. This also applies to the Dalkey Quarry meeting point.
The camp is for ages 8 to 15 years. Depending on numbers the children will be split into younger and older groups. Friends or siblings can be put into the same groups if requested. There will be short breaks between activities to eat snacks and freshen up, campers are free to use Killruddery's toilet facilities. Lunch will be at approx 12.30pm.
The week will give an insight into lots of different kinds of sports and activities, all of which will be instructed by our friendly Squirrel's Scramble instructors, all staff are highly experienced, are all qualified first aid responders and are fully qualifed members of ERCA (European Ropes Course Assiociation). Certified Climbing Gear is used in all the climbing and abseiling activities, helmets and harnesses.
